Feast of the Redeemer

The Feast of the Redeemer is one of Venice’s most beloved celebrations and takes place in July.
It began as a thanksgiving for the end of the plague of 1576 and is dedicated to the Most Holy Redeemer.
The most anticipated moment is the fireworks display over the St. Mark’s Basin, watched from thousands of boats.
A temporary votive bridge connects the city to Giudecca, bringing together devotion, celebration, and Venetian tradition.
