Description

The Venice Arsenal is an ancient complex of shipyards located in the Castello district. Founded in the 12th century, it was the heart of the naval power of the Venetian Republic, where military and commercial vessels were built and repaired.

Today, although no longer active as a shipyard, the Arsenal is a historically significant site and hosts cultural events such as the Venice Biennale.

Opening hours:

The North Arsenal is normally open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
