Description

CAMPO ERBERIA

Campo Erberia is a small square located right next to the Rialto Market, along the Grand Canal. Its name comes from “erbe” (herbs), because in the past fruit and vegetables were mainly sold here.

It was part of the larger commercial area of Rialto, where each section specialized in different goods—this one focused on fresh produce. As a result, it was always full of vendors and people shopping.

Over time, it has lost much of its original role as a market, but it has remained a lively and vibrant spot.

Today, it is full of bars and cafés and serves as a popular meeting place, especially in the evening. Thanks to its beautiful view over the Grand Canal, it is also very popular with tourists.
